Duplicate transactions now offer a merge — wherever you spot them

When you enter a purchase by hand — say, from a scanned receipt — and the same charge later arrives from your bank, Forbidden Finance pairs the two up and suggests a merge. Until now that suggestion only really surfaced in the moments right after saving. If the bank charge arrived later (an overnight sync, for example), the suggestion existed but was easy to never see — which left duplicates sitting in your history.

Now the suggestion finds you:

  • Both sides of a suspected pair show a Possible duplicate chip in your transaction list.
  • Opening either transaction shows the merge card right on its detail screen.
  • The review queue puts suspected duplicates first — and counts them in its badge even after both rows have been reviewed.

Merging keeps the best of both records: the bank's posted amount becomes the number, and your receipt, line items, description and category carry over.

And resolving a duplicate now counts as reviewing it. Once you merge a pair, we won't turn around and ask you to confirm the same purchase again — unless its category was only ever an automatic guess you haven't looked at yet.

Under the hood, the matcher also got two fixes: pairs where your receipt and your card settle in different currencies are now spotted reliably, and a receipt that remembers which card paid now files onto that card's account automatically.
